Determining Child Support

In determining the amount of child support of any minor child, or children of the parties, the court applies as a presumption, the Child Support Guidelines.  The Child Support Guidelines take into account the earnings of both parents, the number of overnights per year each parent spends with the children and other costs for the care of the children expended by one or both parents.  This information is entered into a computer program that can be found online. This computer program calculates the amount of child support owed by one parent to the other.

There are other factors that may be taken into consideration by the court and these factors need to be discussed with your attorney.
